Categories we use

Required for the site to function: session handling, security, load balancing and remembering your cookie preferences. These cannot be switched off and do not require consent.
Preference
Remember choices you make, such as a dismissed notice or a chart setting, so the site behaves consistently on your next visit.
Analytics
Help us understand which articles are read, how visitors arrive and where pages fail, in aggregate. We use this to decide what to cover and what to fix.
Advertising
Set by advertising partners to limit how often you see the same creative and to measure campaign performance. These are only set if you consent.
Third-party cookies
Embedded charts, rate tables and economic calendars are supplied by external market data providers. When one of those widgets loads, the provider may set cookies governed by its own policy, not ours. Social sharing buttons behave the same way once clicked.
Managing cookies
You can change or withdraw consent at any time through the cookie settings link in the site footer. Every major browser also lets you block or delete cookies from its settings, and offers a private browsing mode that clears them at the end of the session. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
Do Not Track
Browsers send Do Not Track signals inconsistently and there is no agreed standard for responding to them, so we do not currently act on them. We honour cookie consent choices made through our own settings panel.
